I apologize for the extended absence. it’s my first time living too ok !

I was listening to Lana Del Rey’s Million Dollar Man excessively loud sitting criss cross applesauce on my couch - watching the day pass me by. A blustery and wet Nov afternoon. I’m not sure the song had much to do with it. Kind of just helps yall imagine the scene if there is a song to accompany it. I DIGRESS. but then it happened!!! I let out an exclamation - “holy shit!!! I want to write a newsletter!!”

BUT GUESS WHAT - you would THINK that I would have grabbed my laptop right then and there to start writing… but I didn’t.

I went for a walk instead.

but then when I got home (like 5 minutes ago) I grabbed my laptop in a hurry and here we are!!! so fucking back!!

OK ok ok I can’t waste too much time here - god knows I might lose the excitement if I don’t get going with the rest of this shit.

You all have genuinely changed my life in ways I could never explain - the community we’ve built together fills me with happiness everyday!!

I dreamt up Henry by Henry as a way to express my energy in physical form - as a way for you to be a part of our little family beyond the worldwide web. Like I’m giving you a hug! I guess? Idk like when you put on the hoodie I’m hugging you idk. Never mind it was supposed to be sweet - moving on.

My intention for Henry by Henry is not just to be merch but to be my self expression through clothes and fashion! This first drop serves to establish the brand name - an entry point from which we will move forward from!

I willll continue to dream up truly Henry inspired designs for you all in the future!! I’m so excited!!

I feel like choosing Million Dollar Man would have been the obvious choice for song of the week but i’m not one to be predictable. (me when im mysterious as hell :p)

I almost insist you watch the video rather than just listening to it on Spotify. it would be doing Etta and her performance a disservice really!!

You’ll note that Led Zeppelin’s very own John Paul Jones is on the bass for Mrs. Etta as she needed a last minute back up.

I have suffered my entire life the agonizing fate of being a young man who is extroverted to a fault - yet is HEAVILY dependent on routine and structure to succeed.

and unfortunately my approach to balancing these contradictory personality traits has been to be a flake….

I say yes to plans to avoid having to say no and then pull the old last minute excuse out of the bag so that I can stick to my routine…. ew of me

It turns out though - and this genuinely still doesn’t sit right with me… your friends WILL UNDERSTAND if you’re transparent with them. and!!!!!!! you won’t have to send an excuse text later on ???

as we get older it is increasingly more important to prioritize our time and sink our energy into what serves OURSELVES. we must learn to be selfish.

If I don’t first take care of myself and my needs I will be a half assed friend to my friends and that is not something I want to be

of course life is about balance. It’s necessary to depart from routine to be present in your life??

ok I know typically this is where I respond to your guys inquiries for advice - but seeing as it’s been….. months - i’ll provide guidance of my own and in the NEXT newsletter we’ll get back to responding to your guys Qs <3

I have a new guiding principle in life!!!!

I experienced canon event a few weeks ago. I was lucky enough to attend a movie premiere in LA. while there I got some time to speak with one of the actors in the film.

I was curious about his outlook on whether we have control of our own destinies or if simply we’re at the mercy of the universe.

He looked at me and admitted his uncertainty on the topic. but before moving on he noted that a friend once told him to “go where the warmth is”.

In that moment I felt new synapses forming in my brain - the world as I knew it changed in the blink of an eye.

go where the warmth is!!

Don’t you guys see!! who cares if we have control or not!! it doesn’t matter!!

so long as we navigate our lives by following the warmth - following what inspires us!! and fulfills us!! that’s the best we can do.
