WEEK #6 <3 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

My Angel Darlings,

hi guys <3 and welcome back to henry’s weekly newsletter where i - henry smith- write a newsletter that comes out weekly.

I’m pleased to announce I am sitting down on a MONDAY EVENING to start writing this.

but. i’m not here to gloat. all i’m saying is people can change… thank you to everyone who believed in me <3 and thank you to everyone who doubted me <3 for you both have pushed me to be the best I can be.

truthfully idk why I ever procrastinate writing this. not racing the clock makes this like 10,000,000x more fun?? anyway thank you for being patient and sweet to me despite my performance the last two weeks. in sickness and in health!!! I wish I could kiss you guys!

ok last thing - I recorded an entire digital video mp4 YouTube style henry’s advice column this week!!! BUT I wasn’t happy with where it was editing wise before this weeks deadline SOOOO I will proceed with the usual henry’s advice column for this week and NEXT WEEK WE WILL BE SO ON!!

ok <3 lets get started <3

For Your Consideration

SONG OF THE WEEK

The song of the week is to be listened to in the background while you read the newsletter! I have a Spotify playlist that will serve as a database of every song of the week :)

This week I went and saw Becoming Led Zeppelin (in theaters now) with my parents. It’s an outstanding documentary that details the formative years of the band, as told by the three remaining members of the band. (their drummer, John Bonham, tragically passed at the age of 32 - ultimately leading to the band to break up).

the documentary follows them through their first two albums (released just 8 months apart from each other). What Is and What Should Never Be is the second track off of their sophmore album. The lyrics, written and sung by Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, are believed to be about his romance with Shirley Wilson - the YOUNGER SISTER of his first wife, Maureen…. talk about messy. their first two albums are mind blowing to me. you should listen to them in full if you have any interest. this is one of my favorites and probably the most palatable for accompanying this newsletter…

I am now wholly consumed by this band and their style and their influence and everything about them. they are truly fascinating. they will certainly influence my Coachella outfits for this year. the theme will be blouses and billowy t-shirts. I’m gonna look so rock and roll. like Robert Plant seen here:

Here is a great article from GQ UK with a catalogue of additional pictures of them.

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

OKKKKKK I know I know sorry to beat a dead horse here but I just need to make sure you guys are on the same page as me. This video shows the boys playing in Denmark, 1969. This is one of their first live performances together as a band.

The swagger and presence and energy they have is so incredible to me. the definition of a rockstar.

The boys are 25, 23, 20, and 20 here…… enjoy!!

AFFIRMATION OF THE WEEK

Please read this aloud no matter your location or surroundings:

I AM A ROCKSTAR AND MY PEERS FIND INSPIRATION IN MY CREATIONS

I DON’T NEED ANYONE ELSE TO MAKE ME LAUGH BECAUSE I MAKE MYSELF LAUGH AND LAUGHING HEALS MY SOUL

Well ok - you guys can probably figure out why I wrote the first one…. but then I got like extremely self aware and realized I need to drop this hole* led zeppelin bit i’m on.

*HUGE SIDE NOTE: one of you was VERY sweet and emailed me to let me know I wrote hole instead of whole - or vice versa - in last weeks newsletter. I cannot stress this enough to you guys. I do not go back through these to read for grammatical errors hahahahaha. that’s part of the magic :)

BUT actually that wasn’t a side note at all because NOW i’m intentionally using the hole wrong whole thing (see what I did there) to make myself laugh WHICH brings us right to affirmation number 2 :)

I was reflecting this week about my tiktok and where it all started and why. I started growing a following in December of 2023 (year and few months ago). I started posting simply for my own creative pleasure! to make myself laugh! it’s so sweet to me that it makes other people laugh too. laughing is the greatest gift.

Can you guys tell I drank an extra cup of coffee today!! yay!!

ROSE, BUD, THORN

Rose: This past weekend I was up in LA to host an event. I invited a handful of my different groups of friends to all be there with me. The happiness I derive from seeing my friends become friends is beyond words. I love my friends and they were very sweet to come and support me. it meant even more to look over and see them laughing and having fun together!

Thorn: it’s raining. a lot.

Bud: I’m going to learn to make really good brownies I decided :) I've never been a baker nor do I have any baking skills but this will be my foray into the baking world.

RECIPE OF THE WEEK

Baby kale means a lot to me. I went to the grocery store on Tuesday evening. They had this box of baby kale that made me want to sing a song.

Anyways - I made a Henry salad video!!! no it’s not spinach!! so many people commented that (maybe 2 did)!! it’s baby kale!! let me know if you guys have any questions about Henry salad <3

@henryhenryhenryhenryhenr

I love you guys!! enjoy!! #recipe

HENRY’S ADVICE COLUMN <3

As noted in the prologue - next week we will begin experimenting with digital video mp4 YouTube format for henry’s advice column. This week we will stick to what we know:

Rob asks:

Trying to get back into exercising and motivate myself can you drop the workout routine or any tips you have?

Ok - I hope it’s not a let down I didn’t choose a very… “deep”, for lack of a better term, topic this week but this actually means a lot to me.

I chose this prompt because I get a lot of questions about staying motivated/how I find fulfillment/establishing routines and I think answering this question also answers all of those questions as well!!

I’ve mentioned in weeks past that my youthfulness and my health are my most prized possessions. I truly believe that fresh air and moving your body (and laughing) are the truest cures to any of life’s woes. I exercise a lot. like way more than is probably good for me. but it’s how I keep myself happy so I do it!

To Rob - and any of you with similar curiosity - I’ll recommend this! To get yourself motivated you should start with what gets you excited and establish a routine based around that.

Routine is the key always. making it part of your day everyday AND making it the part of your day you look forward to is so important. I love going for walks through nice neighborhoods and playing “would I like to live in that house yes or no”. makes exercise feel more - approachable.

Signing up for a race to keep yourself accountable is a great approach! taking classes! Doing something that doesn’t feel like exercise (rock climbing, surfing, soccer, etc.)!

Ok sorry I’m all over the place. Moral of the story - move your body in whatever way fulfills you as step one. Build your strength and your tolerance and from there you will take off I’m sure of it!!

I’m proud of you <3.

email me or respond to this newsletter with what you need advice on and i’ll provide my thoughts in future weeks ❤️

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Ok I love you guys all so much I really do. thank you for the support always. it means the world to me.

I’ll see you guys next week <3

Yours alwaysalwaysalwaysalways,

Henry
